“Role of Social Movements in Promoting Public Freedoms”
Workshop: “Role of Social Movements in Promoting Public Freedoms”
The Palestinian Center for Research & Cultural Dialogue (PCRD) in cooperation with the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, conducted a workshop on the topic “Role of Social Movements in Promoting Public Freedoms” on 16 July 2018 in Jenin. The main learning objective was to promote the awareness of youth on how to employ the potency and potentials of youth movements in having an impact on advancing public and individual freedoms forward. In summary, the work of social movements can be successful through defining the neglected social problems, highlighting fragile public issues such as environment, protection of customers, corruption, refugees’ challenges, in addition to that, social movements should try to be a tribune for exercising democracy. It is crucial in this regard that social movements should give the space and possibilities for each individual to express himself/herself freely and to act in the same manner.
