Jerusalem’s Annual Pride Parade
FNF- Jerusalem

Yesterday some 10,000-15,000 people marched in Jerusalem’s annual pride parade beset by religious and political tensions ever-present in the city with over 2,000 police securing the highly charged event four years after a deadly stabbing attack on participants, which left 16-year-old Shira Banki dead.

The annual event is a highlight for the city’s LGBT community, which is beset by religious and political tensions ever-present in the city, and often overshadowed by Tel Aviv’s gay-friendly persona and a whole week pride celebration.

The Friedrich Naumann Foundation office in Jerusalem consistently opposes discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity and wishes to all our LGBT friends and partners a happy pride celebration
