FNF in cooperation with Palestine Academy for Science & Technology (PALAST)
The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Jerusalem started a new cooperation with the Palestine Academy for Science & Technology (PALAST) through funding of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation & Development (BMZ) project titled “Promoting Higher Education & the Private Sector through Dialogues of the Business Community, Academia and Politics”.
The parties agreed to cooperate in the framework of the project on the following: Development of an inventory of Palestinian researchers and scientists, establishing a mechanism for coordinating projects of research centers and universities, conducting research symposia, initiating structures of scientific societies, organizing roundtables for focus groups of the business communities, organizing scientific winter/summer camps. PALAST includes academics from the Jerusalem, West Bank, Gaza and the diaspora.The project started on January 1, 2018 and will end on December 31, 2020.
Till now the following activities have been implemented: an ongoing development of the portal and website of the academy , two workshops on developing science societies (Mathematics & Physics) with the participation of more than 30 university professors and researchers.
