The Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has been operating in Israel since 1982 and began its Palestinian work in 1994. With an Israeli-Palestinian team in a joint office in Jerusalem the foundation aims to be a platform of innovation for enhancing freedom in society, strengthening dialogue with the European Union and contributing to the advancement of Israeli-Palestinian dialogue. Together with our partners, we want to strengthen liberal values like the rule of law, respect of human dignity with civil and human rights, market economy principles and entrepreneurship and a democratic culture of tolerance and pluralism.

Specifically, Iran's production and delivery of UAVs in support of Russia's war objectives in Ukraine have shifted the power balance from Iran's weaker position to an exchange now occurring on almost equal footing.

The Hamas terrorist attack on the 7th of October shook Israeli society to its core. After years of failing to negotiate peace, many Israelis settled for security. Now, with neither peace nor security, a divided and traumatized Israel faces its darkest hour. From Memory to Action – How to Act when Never Again is Now?
Since the October 7th Hamas terror attacks, the world has been witnessing a new dimension of antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiments, which indeed makes us wonder, whether Never Again is not already here and now.

The first day of our delegation in Brussels set the tone for a week of meaningful engagement. We began with an in-depth briefing with the Israeli Mission to the EU and NATO, gaining valuable insights into the current dynamics in Europe and the role of Israeli diplomacy. In the evening, we sat down with FDP Member of European Parliament Moritz Körner for a candid discussion on the challenges facing liberals today, with a strong focus on combating antisemitism in Europe. His openness, reflections, and willingness to fight for what he stands for made for a thought-provoking and heartwarming exchange.

This weekend, we were thrilled to join our partner Molad for a thought-provoking seminar, part of their Noga Program for Political Thought. Over two days, participants tackled some of the most urgent and complex issues shaping Israeli and Palestinian realities today. We explored the evolution of the peace process, while unpacking the competing narratives of national identity. A highlight was our in-depth conversation with former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, who shared personal insights from the negotiation table and his work with the Palestinian Authority. The seminar continued with hands-on workshops in creative writing and problem-solving — equipping participants to think and express themselves differently about our political challenges. We're leaving inspired, and more hopeful for the future. Thank you to Molad and the incredible group of bright young minds who made this weekend so great.

🎙️We Are Kicking Off Our Liberal Economy Series! 🧠💬 Last week, Israel’s Liberal Voice launched the first in a new series of events exploring liberal economy, with a session titled “Free Market of Ideas.” Led by Boaz Arad, Director of the Ayn Rand Center in Israel, the seminar offered a deep dive into the moral and philosophical foundations of the free market. From individual liberty to societal prosperity, Arad challenged us to think critically about how liberal values shape — and are shaped by — economic systems. 🤩🤩🤩 This event was of course just the beginning — stay tuned for more!
